Welcome to the new and improved I AM YOGA HEALTH website!

I have chosen a new layout and design to better reflect where I AM and what I am doing in my life. Six months ago, I made a major life decision to leave the traditional practice of medicine to explore other paths of service. As a cardiologist and yoga teacher, I saw an opportunity to integrate both worlds and hopefully continue to be of service.

I AM YOGA HEALTH was created as a site where I can share my years of experience and knowledge as a yogi, doctor, and yoga teacher. Hopefully, here you can find valuable and fun information on nutrition, yoga, health and travel. I AM is about empowering ourselves to be who we are meant to be – healthy, beautiful, happy, divine beings.

I am passionate about a holistic approach to health and disease prevention. What doe holistic mean? It means a Mind-Body approach to health, addressing not only the physical but the mental and spiritual components of our health. Ask yourself, “What else is going on in your life right now that could affect your health”?

Yoga is Holistic and incorporates the healing elements of Mother Nature. Nature tends to have most of the answers. Who doesn’t feel better when immersed in Mother Nature?

There are many factors that lead to dis-ease. What most people don’t appreciate is that most of these risk factors and “diseases” are preventable and reversible.

What will be the same? A lot!!!  As a blogger, I vow to bring you the same quality content in categories like health & wellness, heart health, nutrition, yoga, travel, and lifestyle.

What’s new? Business! I am now offering private yoga classes and health consultations.

Yoga: I believe that anyone and everyone can do yoga. But many people are reluctant to enter a yoga class in a gym or studio. I am passionate about safe yoga for all. Individuals with certain health concerns (musculoskeletal, heart disease, high blood pressure, to name a few) should not be doing certain poses. In a large class setting, this generally goes unattended.  Private one-on-one classes are a wonderful way to learn and practice yoga safely.

Health consultations: To be clear, I have no intentions of replacing your physicians. I offer a complementary holistic approach to health through lifestyle modifications. Many people who adopt these lifestyle modifications may find (working with their physicians) a decreased need for certain medications. My approach involves the well established healing principles of Yoga philosophy.

 

 

 

Yoga teaches us that what we do and HOW we do it, how we LIVE our lives, influence our health and well being.
